Tammy started in the insurance industry in 1980. She began as a Commercial Lines policy
rater and then Underwriter for Fireman’s Fund New Car Dealer program for Fireman’s Fund
in California. After leaving Fireman’s Fund after 8 years to move to Arizona, she attended
college for marketing while working as office manager for a small independent insurance agency.
Tammy left after it was sold to work for Lasher-Cowie Agency, the largest independent agency
in AZ, as an Account Executive for their Special Accounts Division. Lasher-Cowie then sold
to HRH, and Tammy continued as a Producer specializing in transportation risks, lawyers
professional, property, bonds and the hospitality market. She left HRH in 1990 for a direct
sales Producer position with Empire Fire & Marine (Zurich Programs) in a new division
specializing in auto rental and dealer business. She was top producer for 10 out of the 11
years; where she took a promotion to SW Regional Sales Manager, in addition to her
responsibly as Producer for her territory. Tammy was promoted to Vice President & National
Sales Manager. Her duties included managing all 45 direct sales producers, overseeing
retail agents, managing 7 regional remote offices, maintaining her book of business,
developing underwriting guidelines, analyzing loss data, and maintaining/ writing new
national and large accounts. In addition, she worked directly with the CEO of Empire and
did CEO presentations across the US for other Zurich units, Zurich of Canada, and for large
national brokers. Her responsibilities included budgeting for Empire, overseeing
profitability and production of all rental and dealer programs, rolling out new programs
which included Supplemental Liability, Renters Protection Insurance, Recreational Vehicle
Rental and Dealerships, and Equipment Rental and overseeing the independent auto dealer
programs. She was named Producer of the year 8 years, and won Producer of the Millennium in
2000. She produced and maintained some of the largest franchise and independent RV and auto
rental companies in the US and Canada. In 1991, Tammy resigned to start a new agency with
her husband and three other investors called Sonoran National Insurance Group. Tammy
continues to be very involved in local and national vehicle rental associations, serving on
the board of several for past 10 years, and continues to be a speaker at various conventions,
trade shows, and franchise meetings. Tammy is President of Sonoran, and she is responsible for
broker relationships, large and national accounts, and oversees agency operations and profitability.

Marty started his career in the golf business as an assistant pro in AZ in 1987.
While working toward his PGA card, Marty worked for a large car dealership in AZ in
new car sales. Marty was top salesperson for several years standing. He later became
involved in several family owned transportation brokerage businesses, and soon branched
out on his own to successfully own and operate his own transportation brokerage.
In 1999, Marty sold his business and while pursuing his goal of trying out once again
for the PGA, also became a licensed insurance agent and worked for a mid-sized agency
in AZ, specializing in auto dealer business and writing dealers through the Zurich
program Tammy managed, as well as writing through other various other carriers. Marty
soon became recognized as the “dealer expert” in AZ. In 2001, he joined Tammy to start
Sonoran as Vice President and shared responsibilities for marketing, agency management,
carrier relationships, Marty writes all lines of business and specializing in dealer
business. Marty works with Executive Directors in various states and is responsible for
Sonoran being endorsed in several states as the agent for the associations.

Roger “Seth” started working with Empire (Zurich) in 1997 as IT support in
their national sales office in AZ. His responsibilities included supporting the AZ office
for all IT needs, designing national sales meeting presentations & marketing materials,
and assisting in day-to-day office administration. In 1997, Roger started his own computer
business specializing in training individuals on computer skills. Roger became a licensed
Property and Casualty Producer in 2002 selling individual and business policies to both small
and large accounts. Roger also had responsibilities to learn all phases of agency management and
interned for Horton Insurance in Chicago in 2005. Later his business developed into networking
agencies, and other companies, website design and development, technology implementation, and
employee task efficiency. Roger is now Director of IT Services for Sonoran, as well as Producer
and assists with marketing, training, customer support and office management and administration.
